Of all the roles that CIDs fulfill, championing economic development is vitally important to an entire community. Board Member Karen Glover is providing strategic leadership and assisting the Stone Mountain CID's mission to bring jobs and businesses back to the area.
"We have to attract new businesses by being proactive," Glover said. "We cannot wait for government to do it; we have to do it ourselves."
Professionally, Glover serves as the Operations Director of First Industrial Realty Trust. As director, she oversees all operational activities and a portfolio of more than 6.4 million square feet of industrial assets throughout metro Atlanta.
Glover's experience also includes duties as general manager for Parkway Properties – a real estate investment trust focused on the southeast market. She was also a general manager for Jones Lang LaSalle, where she was responsible for a $10 million office operations budget.
She is a graduate of Trevecca University and currently is a licensed broker in Georgia.
