The Stone Mountain Community Improvement District is rising to meet the challenges of our current economic climate. The ultimate goal – for every commercial property to reach its highest and best use.
Promoting Economic Development
With the support of business and political leaders, the Stone Mountain CID is rapidly deploying initiatives to dramatically increase the area’s commercial appeal. The goal of the CID is to return this vitally important office and industrial park to its place as the southeast’s premier location for commercial success. We are already making a real difference.
Fixing Broken Infrastructure
The CID partners with DeKalb County, Georgia Power, the Georgia Department of Transportation and others to remove blight and identify and repair all infrastructure needs, including those along side roads and properties.
Increasing Public Safety and Perception
The CID funds public safety professionals and off-duty county police officers to provide daily uniformed patrols of stakeholder properties. Landscaping crews routinely maintain the area’s appearance.
What Is a CID?
A Community Improvement District (CID) is a geographically defined area where commercial and industrial properties increase their own tax rate to fund improvements. CIDs partner with local governments, business professionals and surrounding residents.
