Like many others in DeKalb County and the surrounding areas, the Stone Mountain CID experienced power disruptions following the recent tropical storm. But CID leaders kept to their schedule, gathering around generator-supplied lamp light to conduct their regular monthly meeting the day after the weather event. The CID recently added concrete surfaces to improve a heavily traveled MARTA bus shelter. Years of pedestrian traffic have worn away the surrounding ground, as these before-and-after images from Juliette Road @ East Ponce de Leon Avenue show. New landscaping features will be installed later this year.
An urgent email was sent on a Tuesday evening to some members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The email asked for 150 volunteers to be at the Church’s Welfare Production and Distribution Center the following morning.
