A few thousand celebrants will enjoy a great party at the eighth annual Taste of Tucker on Saturday, Oct. 7. Running 1 to 6 p.m. on Tucker’s Main Street, the festival features delicious samples from more than 20 area restaurants, plus live music from local bands.
Among the special attractions are a children’s play area coordinated by Tucker First United Methodist Church, a space for the sale of local produce organized by the Tucker Farmers Market, and drink venues coordinated by Keller Williams Realty Atlanta Partners. Primo Grills will raffle off an $1,800 ceramic outdoor cooker. Major sponsors include Restaurant Equipment Services, Georgia United Credit Union and Primo Grills.
Admission is free. Attendees purchase $1 tickets to exchange for food samples, with “tastes” costing between one and four tickets. Proceeds from the event benefit NETWorks Cooperative Ministry, which fights poverty and hunger in the community; EIRO, a consulting service for churches; Camp Kudzu, which supports children and teens who have Type 1 diabetes; and the Old Town Tucker Merchants Association.
Taste of Tucker depends on volunteers to set up, conduct and tear down the event. To sign up as a volunteer, to reserve booth space for a restaurant, or to view updates on vendors and musical groups, visit www.tasteoftucker.com, or check out www.facebook.com/tasteoftucker.
